We had a nice 84km ride today, easy riding with a few hills, staying overnight at Tha Heua, a small village at the northern end of the Nam Ngum Reservoir. There are some resorts around here, and we stay in the one and only: Nirvana! The story of today is told in pictures...

A very representative picture of the road this morning; we're still on one of the main roads of the region here, on our way from Tourakhom towards road 13 |
|
And for breakfast today we have... deep fried banana! |

The dry rice paddies at this time of the year |

A view towards road 13, with "heavy traffic" (???) |
|
For a long stretch day there was mostly nature, very few villages, little traffic, and great cycling. All this along road 13 now, the main road connecting Vientiane to the north of Laos |

Arriving at the Nam Ngum Reservoir |

Small Lao village on our way |

Sunset over the Nam Ngum Reservoir, viewed from the Nirvana Resort. Not the cheapest place we've stayed, but worth it. |

And another milestone reached today... |
