Sokcho had been a nice stopover, with a great daytrip to Seoraksan, delicious food and oh yes: I went for a run, the first time in 3 months. I didn't run for a long time (7-8km), but it felt great and went well. Honestly, looking forward to put in those miles again! (I've even dreamt of a 24h race again...) From Sokcho we took the bus to Seoul, and that went surprisingly easily. At the bus station they were very casual about taking the bicycles on the bus, it was perfectly normal, no questions asked - and no additional fee either. We just chucked the bikes into the luggage compartment and off we went. Once in Seoul it also went all by itself, the bus station (Dong Seoul) is very near to the Han river, so within minutes we were cycling along the river, 6-7km towards the guesthouse - it's as simple as that.

Once at our "second home" in Seoul, Seoul Forest Guesthouse, we bought fresh bread for lunch, checked in, put our laundry in the machine (that was really needed...) and left for BikeLy. By then it was raining a little, the first rain we've had in Korea after weeks of beautiful spring weather. At BikeLy, we got ourselves new chains and cassettes, they're all shiny and new now, ready for some more 1000's of kms!

Shiny new bicycle parts! |
With that done, we had yesterday a full day to spare in Seoul, which was really nice - tourist time! We walked around again, as before, and as before we also very much liked it again. We spent some time in Bukchon, and old city area where a lot of traditional Korean houses have been restored nicely. Of course, we enjoyed a nice relax Korean lunch, and a good coffee. Later on, in the evening, we had a great BBQ duck dinner with Emma, our long time friend and colleague, who happened to be in Seoul; it was good fun.

And now, we're riding in a bus again, on our way south to Busan. Taking the bus was a repeat of Sokcho, it went very easily again. Let's hope it'll be like that for the ferry as well...
