Nam Ou, Nam Khan, Nam Bak

What if... I made a blog post today with little text and mostly pictures? Yeah, why not. 1 paragraph and then pics. We rode from Ban Naham, at the Nam Khan river, just past the Nam Ou, towards Pakmong. Many tourbikers do LP to Pakmong in 1 day, we decided to take it a bit easier and split it up. We went 10km past Pakmong today in the direction of Nong Khiaw, to a place called Ban Nam Bak, a small town at the Nam Bak river. 52 easy km, ready to tackle the tougher Pakmong - Oudomxay route tomorrow.
Ban Naham this morning at 7.30am: misty mountains! We had read from quite a few other blogs about the mist in the Lao mountains, well here it is!
The mornings are still pretty cold, and today the mist was added to the mix. Cold, wet and nice!
The mist clearing, the temperature rising, time to get rid of a layer. Meanwhile, a "motorised buffalo" (kind of light tractor) overtakes us, and a (Chinese) truck comes from the other side. All this is still on the road 13, the "highway" to the north!
What goes up, must come down: counts for the mist too! Once the mist gone, this was the scenery again (this is the Nam Khan still)
Even some fresh green rice paddies today! Even if we've seen this a million times, I think we'll still enjoy it.
