A few days ago, back on the boat, we saw lines of clouds, high and far away, and Tonio said this meant we would get a day of drizzly rain, in a couple of days time. Well, he was right: that day has come today!

The rainy day view is very different, but also nice |
The good side: it's a nice cool day for a change. So first, I went for a nice run this morning. It had been a month ago since my last run! Not that I did not want to, it just didn't happen. So it all started a bit rusty and difficult but went much better after little while. At that time of the day - I left before 7am - Koh Lipe is still very peaceful and quiet, very enjoyable... There is a nice stretch of road, unsealed partially, basically going nowhere - making it perfect for a nice run.

We already planned to go for a trip today, just cross the narrow channel from Koh Lipe to Koh Adang. Koh Adang is a much bigger island than Koh Lipe, but unlike Koh Lipe it is not touristy at all. In fact, all these islands here - including Lipe - are part of the Koh Tarutao national park. No idea why Lipe did get developed, but the other islands are pretty much unspoilt, with beautiful pure nature.

Panoramic view from the second viewpoint |
On Koh Adang there is a ranger station, with some basic accommodation and a great camping spot. It also has a simple restaurant and there are 2 walks: one going up the hill towards 3 viewpoints, another one towards a waterfall. We walked uphill for a bit more than 30' and found indeed 3 wonderful viewpoints on our way, from where we could see Koh Lipe entirely. Thanks to the clouds and soft rain, it was not too hot, although still very sweaty. On the last viewpoint we took some time to relax and enjoy the view, and after walking down again the dip in the sea was fantastic.

We still had some time left before our boat would return, and it was then time for a well deserved lunch, with hornbills looking over us. We also started off on the walk to the waterfall, a pleasant and much easier walk, but couldn't finish this as we had to get back for our return boat.

Waiting for the boat back from Koh Adang to Koh Lipe |
Now, some relax time at our chalets in Lipe Beach Resort, enjoying the peace and the cool weather. It looks like it might be an entirely gray day, and that is perfectly fine! 😀
