Still in Kyoto

After 3 nights at the wonderful Kyoto Compass Guesthouse we booked another 2 nights in a nearby Airbnb, and again found ourselves in a very nice place. Another old house, a lot of light and space, nice room, different but also very nice, only without the super kind hosts like we've had before. While we also went around Kyoto, mostly walking, we enjoyed a lot of chill time at the Airbnb. Nice... Tomorrow morning we continue cycling, the last 2 days on Honshu island!

Kyoto has really been fantastic. I had been here once, just for 1 day, some years ago but what we saw and did here the past few days largely exceeded the expectations, it was great. Kyoto can easily be added to my favourite places on Earth, and I'm pretty sure we'll come back here. I have no better way to describe the past days in Kyoto than sharing some (a lot) more pictures, here they are...
The Golden Pavillion at Kinkakuji
The bamboo forest walk
Riding back to town
Fushimi Inari, just incredible
Fushimi Inari, just incredible, 1000's of these Torii lined up on a mountain
It's also a burial place
It looks different at every turn, with the late afternoon sunlight playing games
Looking up at the sky
Set in a beautiful natural environment
A fox, it seems
The place is so impressive and photogenic, you just keep shooting...

Inari, temple at the foot of the mountain

Another combined view of temples at the foot of Inari; OK, that's enough for Inari now...

Wooden bridge at the Tofukuji temple
Temple gardens

Prayers at a shrine

Time to close the door and move on
